THE MÄKINEN'S
They are a Finnish couple living here in the asuntola. We work at the temple with them. They speak very, very little English. Basically, Sisar Mäkinen speaks NO english. That gets to be a bit of a challenge at times.
They came over yesterday and we had them 'pick' an ornament to put on the Christmas tree. They thought that was cool. They liked doing that.
And Sisar Mäkinen made us this beautiful snowflake to hang in our apartment. I wish I could make things like that. They are so pretty!
AND WHAT LIES AHEAD FOR US THIS WEEK!!??
It will be a fun week for sure.
Tomorrow morning early (like 6:30 a.m.) we leave with some of the other missionaries for a large ferry boat for Estonia! We will spend the day in TALLINN. That should be fun. We spent a day there last year when we were on our Baltic Cruise. We are looking forward to going back. It will be interesting to see if we have to have an 'icebreaker' escort us through the Baltic Sea or the Bay of Finland!
Then, tomorrow night David, Alyssa, Emsley, and Chelsea Victoria arrive at the Helsinki Airport. We are so excited to see them. It has been 1 1/2 years since we have. I know the girls have surely gotten bigger!! They will be here for one week.
At the TEMPLE, it is only open on Tuesday and Wednesday and then closed the rest of the week for the Christmas Holidays.
We will keep you posted on all of the activities!
