CATCH UP......

PERJANTAI (Friday)

With the beauty of 'Northern Finland' still abundant, folks are still out and about taking a ton of pictures. We were NO exception. As we walked up to the temple Friday afternoon, we met the Alakoski's (who had a camera in their hands) taking pictures with the Zaretskij's (missionary couple from Russia). The only thing to do with our camera in hand......take a picture. Wayne took a picture of the group with the Alakoski's camera.

While in the temple Perjantai iltapäivä, it was just a little quieter than normal because there were not as many young single adults this week as what we have had in the past. We took advantage of that 'quiet time' to get some temple work for Wayne's great-great-great grandparents who are from Galstad, Sweden. With the help of these young folks, they were proxies for the ancestors. The young lady is from Russia (her name is Maria Privezentseva) and the young man from Latvia (his name is Dmitrij Prokopcev). Now we can continue with the rest of the work ...... Wayne and I should be able to get that done very soon.
Our dinner tonight was an apple with peanut butter (crunchy, of course) on each slice! Love that! However, we realized that the great big ole jar that the Monocacy youth sent us for Christmas is almost gone!

We will have to figure out what we will do when we finish it off. David and Becky sent us a couple of small jars ...... so at least we have that to use next. We just need to teach these Finns about the dietary value of peanut butter!! :-)

LAUANTAI........ (Saturday)

As we were eating our breakfast at about 7:00 a.m. this morning, we looked out the window and what did we see.......NO, not popcorn popping on the apricot tree (as sung in the Primary Children's Hymnbook!).....the TEMPLE HARE!!!! YES, there he was in all his glory. Just looking at 'Frosty'!! He is one HUGE dude!! We grabbed the camera and shot what we could get. Sorry it is not better, but he is quite allusive and you get what you can when you can see him. Notice 'Frosty' in the bottom right corner and 'Temple Hare' sitting in just about the middle of the picture. We are on the 'hunt' for this 'HARE'!!!
