- 24c AND JUST PLAIN FRIGID!!

TOO cold for human consumption to even think about being outside! However, that is exactly what Wayne and I did this afternoon. We are on the morning shift this week and that allows us a little 'free time' in the afternoon. We decided today would be a good day to venture downtown to go to the NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM in Helsinki. It is FREE from 4:00 p.m. until close (at 6:00 p.m.) only on Thursday afternoon. We.Like.Free. We didn't even know about this museum until last week when Sisar Roto told us about it. It sounded interesting. It is NOT open on Monday.....go figure. NOTHING is open on Monday's in Finland...or in the Winter!
We took a 248 BUS to downtown....easiest way to get there. We were not the only ones to have a foto op at this MOOSE standing by the front door. There was a snow path leading right up to him.
Once inside we had a giant ELEPHANT to greet us.
I was taking a picture of some flying creators on the ceiling....not realizing that I was pretty much 'tilted' the same way the dinosaur was!!
MOSQUITOES are BIG here in Finland.....and plentiful during the summer season. This was a 'sample' of a typical mosquito!!
We caught a 248 BUS back home....we were pretty much FROZEN by the time we got on it. We decided to sit all the way in the back so we could keep as warm as possible. Not as much draft from doors opening there. At least we felt like that. This was 'our view'!
A beautiful FULL MOON was at just the right angle when we got off the bus and walked the last block to our apartment. Foto time.....Hot Chocolate was just the right thing when we got in.
