A FEW MORE FOTOS.....

Last Saturday was President Haikkola's birthday. We did not find out about it until Monday night! How bad are we as missionaries to NOT know when our President's birthday is!

We decided for our weekly Wednesday night Missionary Meeting with the President, we would have a little birthday 'cake' to celebrate.

Strawberries are delicious and 'in season' right now. So.....we improvised with the pound cake and had strawberry shortcake!! We put a sugar donut on the bottom, sliced and sugared strawberries on top and around and topped off with WHIP CREAM, of course.

We think President Haikkola was surprised and even enjoyed it a little bit......

and we never, NEVER turn dessert down!!

After the meeting, we wanted to get a little exercise so we went out looking for WEEDS to attack. And we found some!!

Then last night, THURSDAY NIGHT, a group of 18 missionaries arrived from Russia. They needed to update their passports......they do this little process every 3 MONTHS!!!

They LOVE coming to Finland. They love their Missions in Russia but it is a change of scenery for them. These two pictures were taken at 9:00 p.m. (notice how bright it still is). The older couple in the middle of the missionaries is from a Branch somewhere in Moscow area. And these missionaries know this couple.

They wanted their picture taken with them! And the young lady next to the couple? Well, she is headed to the Provo MTC in two weeks....Margaretha Ledneva. She will be a missionary and come back to her home country of RUSSIA. She is just the sweetest thing. She is the only member of the church in her family. She has been so faithful!

And then along about 9:30 p.m. Thursday night (does anyone ever sleep around here!!??) Sisar Zarechetja came knocking on our door. She and her husband had been for a walk and she picked some beautiful flowers for me!!! My FAVORITE ones too. These were the flowers we remember growing EVERYWHERE when we arrived one year ago. And they are BACK!!
