"DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES".......

That was the 'headline' for an e-mail that Wayne sent to our children today! He told them that I have done amazingly well with Finnish (especially with the temple ordinances) and met another milestone with being able to do Russian in the temple too! But, I suppose an AMAZING MIRACLE happened today at our P-Day Breakfast!
BUT.....first a couple of other amazing pictures! The snow just keeps piling up. We don't know how much we have but it is snowing again now and if it keeps up, we will probably have yet another 5 - 6 inches before morning!!
AND 'FROSTY' just keeps getting bigger.....taller and wider! The snow is so deep that we seriously can not walk back to where he is positioned! We took a walk around the temple (participially on the 'back side') just to see how things looked. The emergency exits were NOT accessible IF they were needed. Wayne shoveled those paths out. The large window in the picture below was just pretty with the 'sun' (albeit hazy) reflecting in it.
AND.....DRUM ROLL PLEASE......THE REAL MIRACLE IS......

I ATE AN EGG TODAY FOR THE 1ST TIME IN 40 YEARS!!!
YUP.......that was a miracle neither one of us could believe! Why 40 years!? Because when I was pregnant with our first-born child (Jonathan...who turned 40 on October 24, 2009), my OB Doctor told me he wanted me to eat an egg every day until I gave birth to our baby! Say what! By the time he was born, I HATED eggs. Never wanted to see another one.
And, until that point in my life, I loved eggs. Especially fried eggs. Fried in butter of course. I am, after all, from North Carolina and that is the way my mother and grandmother taught me to cook them!
But Sunday night, out of the clear blue, I had an epiphany!! I saw myself eating an egg....and a hard-boiled egg all of a sudden sounded good. So, along with crispy bacon and toast this morning, I boiled eggs! Granted I only ate one but that was a start. I loaded it with salt and pepper.....just for good luck!

  1. Vickie--40 years wthout eggs?!? WOW--hard to believe. I enjoy following your mission and day to day experiences. FYI--Tab is due any day now and Tracy is due early April--both are males. We will be back in the DC area in May for the blessings. Love, John

That is my goal. We have to get together somewhere, sometime when we get home. Congratulations on two new grandbabies! They are wonderful aren't they!
